I've got a theory ...

no, no bunnies here. Just finished watching "Penn & Teller's Bullshit" on Creationism (season one) so I felt the need to post some thoughts.

from merriam-webster's.com:

Main Entry: the·o·ry thē-ə-rē
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural:the·o·ries
Etymology: Late Latin-theoria, from Greek theōria, from theōrein
Date: 1592
1)the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another
2)abstract thought /speculation
3)the general or abstract principles of a body of fact, a science, or an art theory
4)a belief, policy, or procedure proposed or followed as the basis of action; an ideal or hypothetical set of facts, principles, or circumstances —often used in the phrase -in theory, we have always advocated freedom for all
5) a plausible or scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena -theory of light
6) a hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation; an unproved assumption / conjecture; a body of theorems
7) presenting a concise systematic view of a subject: theory of equations

-- please note, creationists, that "theory" when it relates to evolution, the big-bang, etc. is #5 - scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena. It does NOT mean "unprovable"!!
Get with it - there is NO science in Intelligent Design because you do not have to "believe" a fact - you KNOW a fact, you BELIEVE a religion. And as for me, I'll stick with knowing, thank you very much!
